A Youth-Led Movement for Mountains
Save Mountain was launched in Nepal in 2026 as a youth-led initiative under SEED SURE. It was created to bring stronger public attention to mountains, glaciers and the communities experiencing the effects of climate change first.
Our goal is not to present climate change as a distant environmental problem. Changes in mountain systems affect water, livelihoods, ecosystems, disaster risk, culture and communities far beyond the mountains themselves.
Save Mountain works to connect youth energy with credible knowledge, public awareness and collaboration so that mountain issues remain visible in climate action.
What Guides Our Work
Evidence Before Claims
We communicate climate and mountain issues using credible sources and clearly distinguish completed work from future ambitions.
Youth Leadership
Young people should participate not only as audiences, but as researchers, storytellers, volunteers, organizers and contributors.
Community-Centered Action
Mountain communities are not case studies. Their experiences, priorities and knowledge must remain part of climate conversations.
Collaboration
Protecting mountain systems requires cooperation between communities, youth, researchers, educators, civil society, governments and international institutions.
Built Through People and Partnerships
Save Mountain is growing through youth participation, community voices and collaboration with people and organizations working across climate, conservation, education and mountain resilience.
